NUR 4119P Behavioral Health Across the Lifespan Practicum

Using the Tanner Clinical Judgment Model as a framework for the development of problem solving and clinical decision making, this course will focus on culturally diverse, client-centered nursing care for individuals, families and groups experiencing problems related to mental illness and alterations in cognition. Specific conditions and considerations relevant to the aging adult will be explored. Emphasis will be placed on the holistic application of physiological, psychosocial, communication and behavioral health theories that promote optimal client outcomes based on a collaborative interprofessional, client-centered approach. Students will reflect on their personal and societal values related to mental health disorders and behavioral health across the lifespan.
