NUR 4119 Behavioral Health Across the Lifespan
This course focuses on culturally diverse, client-centered nursing care for individuals, families and groups experiencing problems related to mental illness and alterations in cognition. Specific conditions and considerations relevant to the aging adult will be explored. The student will assess and apply evidence-based nursing practice specific to clients with mental health disorders. Emphasis will be placed on the holistic application of physiological, psychosocial, communication and behavioral health theories that promote optimal client outcomes based on a collaborative interprofessional, client-centered approach. Students will reflect on their personal and societal values related to mental health disorders and behavioral health across the lifespan.
