NUR 3116P Population and Global Health Practicum

In this course students will explore vulnerable populations to apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to provide culturally competent nursing care for individuals, families and communities. This course is based upon service learning that incorporates the concepts of civic responsibility and servant leadership through acting locally, nationally or internationally to explore social problems that impact social determinants of health. Students in this course will participate in simulations as well as complete practicum hours in a variety of community settings based on an area and/or population of interest to them. The experience builds on the material presented in NUR 3316 Population & Global Health. Students in this course will complete 90 practicum hours.
