NUR 2101 Professional Nursing Concepts

This course provides an overview of the foundations of professional nursing practice. The student will intentionally integrate knowledge gained through liberal arts and sciences with beginning nursing knowledge. Students will explore principles of the nursing process, critical thinking, clinical judgment, safety, infection control, health and wellness, patient education, legal and ethical issues, and communication techniques as they relate to the delivery of quality patient-centered care. Students will build upon these concepts to complete assignments demonstrating a beginning level of clinical judgement.
