NUR 100 Orientation to Nursing
This course introduces the student to the academic skills necessary for the success of an associate degree nursing student at Southside College of Health Sciences. The course will provide the student concrete academic strategies, exposure to essential professional codes and standards, time to reflect on their personal values and the values of Bon Secours Mercy Health, communication techniques, and an opportunity to build relationships with peers, faculty, and advisors. Core concepts such as the nursing process, clinical judgement models, psychosocial and physiological concepts, and evidence-based practice will be explored.
